Royal Enfield’s latest special edition motorcycle, the Shotgun 650 Icon Motosports Edition, has seen an extremely rapid response from buyers in India.
According to Royal Enfield’s announcement, all units allotted to India were booked within about 3 minutes of online reservations opening, highlighting strong demand for premium limited-run models in the mid-size segment.
Limited to 100 units worldwide
- Royal Enfield has produced only 100 units globally of the Shotgun 650 Icon Motosports Edition.
- Of these, 25 units were reserved for Indian buyers, and all were taken within 180 seconds of bookings opening.
- The motorcycle was priced at about Rs 5.75 lakh in India (roughly Rs 9–10 lakh in Nepalese terms, depending on taxes and exchange), but it is not yet confirmed for the Nepal market.
The remaining units are being offered in select international markets, including Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific, according to the announcement.

The Icon Motosports Edition has been created in collaboration with ICON Motosports, a US-based custom motorcycle and riding gear brand known for bold design and styling.
- The bike is based on a one-off custom build called “Always Something”, a special Shotgun 650 concept first shown at the EICMA 2024 motorcycle show.
- Royal Enfield describes this version as a factory-built custom motorcycle that takes inspiration from that concept but is produced in a very limited number.
Styling changes, familiar mechanicals
Mechanically, the Icon Motosports Edition is the same as the standard Shotgun 650:
- Engine: 648cc, parallel-twin, air- and oil-cooled
- Output: 47 hp power and 52.3 Nm torque (company figures)
- Gearbox: 6-speed manual
The changes are mostly cosmetic and detail-focused:
- Three-tone, race-inspired paint scheme
- Gold contrast graphics
- Blue-finished suspension springs
- Bar-end mirrors
- Red seat with integrated logo
- Gold-finished alloy wheels
- Each bike has a numbered plaque, indicating its place in the 100-unit run.
What this means for Nepali buyers
Royal Enfield officially sells multiple 650 twins in Nepal through authorized distributors, but there is no confirmation yet of Nepal allocation or price for the Shotgun 650 Icon Motosports Edition. For Nepali riders, this development mainly shows:
- Royal Enfield is willing to create highly exclusive, design-led variants of its 650 platform.
- Strong booking response in India suggests continued interest in premium mid-size motorcycles in South Asia.
Unless Royal Enfield or its Nepali partner announces local availability, Nepali enthusiasts should treat the Icon Motosports Edition as a collector-focused global special, rather than a model they can presently book here.
