Royal Enfield’s Classic 350 has got a tech-led update in India, with an assist-and-slipper clutch and a USB Type-C fast charging port. For Nepali riders, the timing feels familiar. These features are already showing up in our market.
What’s new on the 2026 Classic 350
According to Royal Enfield’s India announcement, the updated Classic 350 now gets:
- Assist-and-slipper clutch – it reduces clutch lever effort in stop-go traffic and helps prevent rear wheel hop during hard downshifts.
- USB Type-C charging port – it lets riders power smartphones or navigation devices on the move.
Mechanically, the bike stays with the familiar 349cc, single-cylinder, air-oil-cooled J-series engine paired with a 5-speed gearbox. It is known for relaxed power delivery and strong low-end torque.
Nepal angle: features already here, more variants likely
Royal Enfield has recently launched the updated Classic 350 lineup in Nepal, assembled locally at its Birgunj CKD facility. New variants come with dual-channel ABS, LED lighting, Type-C USB charger and gear-position indicator as standard, with prices around Rs 5.55–5.80 lakh (ex-showroom). These specs line up closely with the latest India-spec feature set.
Separately, the new Goan Classic 350 — a bobber-style derivative of the Classic — has been introduced in Nepal at Rs 5.98–6.02 lakh. It uses the same 349cc J-series engine, along with an assist-and-slipper clutch and Type-C charging. Royal Enfield is already bringing the clutch and charging upgrades into the Nepali range.
Given Royal Enfield’s habit of tracking India updates for Nepal through CKD assembly, Nepali buyers can expect the refreshed Classic 350 feature mix, including the lighter clutch and integrated USB-C, to spread across more local variants and colours over the coming months. A full model change is not on the cards yet.
What it means for Nepali buyers
- Easier city riding: The assist-and-slipper clutch will be useful in Kathmandu and other congested cities, cutting left-hand fatigue in traffic and making downshifts smoother on uneven roads.
- Touring convenience: Built-in USB-C charging suits riders who rely on smartphones for navigation on long rides to Pokhara, Mustang or the Mid-Hill Highway.
- Price band stability: Current Classic 350 prices in Nepal sit roughly in the Rs 5.5–6 lakh bracket, with local assembly helping keep costs competitive versus direct imports. Feature additions are more likely to bring minor price adjustments than big jumps.
- Clear ladder of choices: Buyers now have a more structured Royal Enfield range: the standard Classic 350 for traditional retro touring and the Goan Classic 350 for those wanting bobber styling and similar mechanical tech at slightly higher prices.
For Nepali enthusiasts, India’s 2026 Classic 350 update keeps the platform and feature package already seen in local showrooms current for the next few years. That should support parts availability and resale confidence for the 349cc Classic line.
