Range Rover has opened bookings in India for its first all-electric flagship SUV, the Range Rover Electric, giving Nepali buyers an early look at a future high-end EV option.
The new SUV keeps the familiar Range Rover luxury design and off-road stance, but swaps the combustion engine for two permanent-magnet electric motors delivering a combined 405 kW (around 542 hp) and 850 Nm of torque. Range Rover claims the Electric can sprint from 0–100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and offers up to 600 km WLTP range, with a real-world estimate around 535 km on a full charge.
Power comes from a 118.5 kWh lithium-ion battery on an 800V electrical architecture. On a 350 kW DC fast charger, the battery is said to charge from 10% to 80% in about 22 minutes, or add roughly 220 km of range in 10 minutes. For home and workplace use, a 22 kW onboard AC charger is available.
Off-road ability remains a key focus. The Range Rover Electric uses an integrated traction management system that can control wheel slip much faster than a traditional engine-based setup, and it is engineered to wade through water up to 900 mm.
On the tech side, owners will be able to monitor battery level, vehicle location and lock status via the Range Rover app. A “battery digital twin” feature is designed to track battery health over time and provide maintenance-related insights.
There is no official word yet on Nepal launch plans or pricing. Any unit reaching Nepal in the near term is likely to arrive via individual imports rather than a confirmed distributor-led launch.
