Ola Electric has announced a sharp shift in its business model after five years of direct sales. The company will move to a traditional dealer-led retail setup.

Chairman and managing director Bhavish Aggarwal said the change reflects the maturing and fast-growing Indian EV market. Ola’s company-owned outlets will be turned into brand and product experience centres. Short and simple.

Local dealer partners will handle sales, delivery, and after-sales service. Ola plans to expand this network nationwide by the festival season.

The company is making the change to recover market share and improve customer service in smaller cities. It has also brought in a senior advisory team, including former Hyundai Motor India chairman BVR Subbu, to support the new strategy.
