Hyundai has unveiled the Neira Concept, a new electric MPV at GIIAS 2026 in Indonesia, and the model is effectively a rebadged version of the Kia Carens Clavis EV that has been on sale in India since mid-2025. According to the unveiling, Hyundai is positioning the Neira primarily for Indonesia, but the company has already indicated that a new MPV is planned for its India line-up by 2030, making the production Neira a strong candidate.
What is the Hyundai Neira?
The Neira Concept is a three-row electric MPV, based almost entirely on the Kia Carens Clavis EV platform and body. The exterior and interior are nearly identical, with changes limited to Hyundai-specific design touches such as the front grille pattern, alloy wheel design, bumper styling, seat upholstery and Hyundai badging.
According to the announcement, the Neira is expected to share the Carens Clavis EV's key technical package:
