Geely's next battery target
Geely is developing a solid-state battery with 500 Wh/kg energy density. Pilot deployment is planned for 2027. The company claims the technology could give EVs a range of more than 1,000 km on a single charge.

Geely says the battery could also last 1 million km. Higher energy density means automakers can cut battery weight. They can also stretch driving range without making the pack bigger.
What is still unclear
Geely hasn't given a timeline for mass production yet. It also hasn't said when the battery will reach consumer vehicles. The exact chemistry is still undisclosed. Range and lifespan figures still need independent testing to confirm.
Why it matters for buyers
The technology is being developed inside Geely Holding, the group that owns Geely, Zeekr, Lynk & Co, Volvo, Polestar, Lotus and Smart. The 2027 target covers only pilot-stage testing, not a showroom launch. Buyers shouldn't expect this battery in dealerships anytime soon.
