Geely’s Galaxy sub-brand has revealed the Galaxy TT Ultra, a high-performance electric sedan for the Chinese market. It runs on an 800V electrical architecture, uses a large CATL LFP battery and promises sports-car acceleration with long range.
What the Galaxy TT Ultra is
- Twin-motor all-wheel drive, with 180 kW front and 245 kW rear motors for a combined output of about 425 kW (578 hp).
- Claimed 0–100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and top speed of 210 km/h, with a steering-wheel "boost" mode that delivers extra performance for 20 seconds.
- 75.2 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, with a main variant rated at 650 km under China’s CLTC test cycle; other configurations in the Galaxy TT family range from 540 km to 725 km according to Chinese filings and media reports.
- Built on 800V high-voltage architecture, which in related Geely communications is claimed to support very fast charging (around 400 km in roughly 10–15 minutes, depending on charger and variant).
- Large Camry-sized body: about 4,999 mm long, 1,919 mm wide, 1,479 mm high, 2,920 mm wheelbase.
Inside, the TT Ultra runs Geely’s latest Flyme Auto 2.0 software on a floating central screen, backed up by a slim digital instrument panel and head-up display. An analog clock is set into the central air vents, an unusual touch in a modern EV cabin. The chassis uses double-wishbone front and five-link rear suspension with adaptive dampers, and predictive road-scanning tech to balance comfort and handling.
Chinese media expect the standard Galaxy TT to be priced roughly between RMB 1.6–2.2 lakh, putting the performance-focused Ultra and Global Racing Edition in the RMB 2 lakh-plus band. That roughly converts to around Rs 50–70 lakh before taxes if such a car ever came to Nepal. Actual Nepali pricing would be much higher once duties are added.
Nepal angle: why this matters
Geely has already entered Nepal’s EV market. The Geely Galaxy EX5 electric SUV was showcased and launched at NADA Auto Show 2025, signalling that the Galaxy sub-brand is now present here. New Galaxy products in China are therefore relevant for Nepali buyers, even when individual models like the TT Ultra are not immediately headed for our market.
There is no indication yet that Geely plans to launch the Galaxy TT or TT Ultra in Nepal. The car’s size, performance and likely price point place it in a niche luxury-performance space. Geely’s focus in Nepal at the moment appears to be mainstream electric crossovers and SUVs.
For the brand, the TT Ultra arrives as a technology model:
- The 800V platform and fast-charging know-how can trickle down into more affordable Geely Galaxy EVs that suit Nepali conditions.
- Use of LFP batteries with long claimed range suggests future Geely models for Nepal could offer better durability and improved range without relying on expensive NMC chemistries.
- Advanced driver-assistance hardware (lidar-based ADAS) and modern software could gradually appear in upcoming Geely EVs aimed at South Asian markets.
For Nepali buyers, the Galaxy TT Ultra is unlikely to be a realistic buy in the short term. It still signals the kind of EV performance and charging technology Geely may eventually bring to more accessible models in Nepal.
