GAC Aion has confirmed that its new electric sedan, the Ray 7, will officially launch in China on November 12, 2026. The company opened pre-sales for the vehicle on October 17, 2026.
There is no information regarding a potential launch in Nepal. The vehicle is not currently available in the Nepali market, and no local pricing has been announced.
Design and Performance
The Ray 7 features a fastback-style design with a low-slung profile. It measures 4,960 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,455 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,920 mm. The exterior includes a full-width light bar, semi-hidden door handles, and a drag coefficient of 0.22.
The powertrain integrates Huawei’s DriveONE electric drive system with GAC’s 28-in-1 thermal management module. The manufacturer claims an energy consumption figure of 9.7 kWh per 100 km under the CLTC cycle.
Battery and Technology
Buyers can choose between two battery configurations:
- A standard version with a GAC Inpow lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, offering a claimed range of 530 km (CLTC).
- A long-range version with a CATL-supplied LFP battery, offering a claimed range of 702 km (CLTC).

The sedan is equipped with 27 sensors, including a Huawei 192-line LiDAR and three 4D millimeter-wave radars. This setup supports driving assistance in urban environments, automated parking, and gate navigation.

Inside, the cabin features a digital instrument cluster and a large floating central touchscreen. Other equipment includes wireless smartphone charging and integrated sports seats.
Pricing
Pre-sale prices for the five available variants range from 128,800 yuan to 158,800 yuan. Final market pricing will be confirmed at the official launch event.
This new model is positioned as a sporty electric sedan, with industry observers noting its competitive pricing against other electric sedans in the Chinese market.
