Deepal Q05 EV headed to Nepal after strong start in China

Chinese electric SUV Deepal Q05 is expected to enter the Nepali market soon, according to recent announcements from the brand’s regional partners. The compact SUV has drawn attention by becoming a segment leader in China for three consecutive months, with reported sales of over 71,600 units in the first half of this year, in what is currently the world’s largest and most competitive EV market.

Performance and range

According to Chinese market data, the Q05 is offered there with two battery-range options, rated at about 405 km and 506 km under CLTC testing. These figures are based on the Chinese CLTC cycle, which typically gives higher range numbers than WLTP or real-world use, so buyers in Nepal should expect a somewhat lower practical range.

The Q05 uses CATL battery cells and supports fast charging (branded as 3C fast charging) in its home market, which is designed to shorten charging times significantly compared to standard AC charging, especially when using compatible DC fast chargers. Detailed motor output and battery capacity for the Nepal-spec model have not yet been disclosed.

Space and comfort

Although classified as a compact SUV, the Q05 has a wheelbase of 2,735 mm, which is relatively long for this class and should translate into good legroom and usable space for family use. The cabin is built around a digital cockpit, with features such as:

  • Intelligent connectivity system
  • Surround-view camera technology for easier parking and tight maneuvers
  • A comfort-focused interior layout aimed at family buyers

Exact feature levels and safety equipment for the Nepal version will depend on the variant mix chosen for this market.

Design and awards

The exterior of the Q05 was designed under the leadership of Klaus Zyciora, a well-known automotive designer and former head of design at BMW, giving the SUV distinctive proportions and a modern light signature compared to many mainstream compact SUVs. The model has also reportedly received a Gold A Design Award, highlighting its styling and overall design concept.

International rollout and Nepal plan

Deepal has already started exporting the Q05, with its international journey beginning from Thailand. In Europe, the same vehicle is expected to be sold under the name Deepal E06, positioned as a premium electric SUV.

For Nepal, local distributor MAW Vriddhi is preparing to introduce the Deepal brand and the Q05, according to the announcement. Pricing, exact variants and launch date for Nepal have not yet been officially confirmed; any figures circulating at the moment should be treated as indicative only until a formal price and specification sheet is released for the Nepali market.

For Nepali buyers comparing upcoming EV options, the Q05’s main strengths appear to be long claimed range, a spacious cabin for its size, fast-charging capability and a design backed by a reputed global designer. Final value will depend on how MAW Vriddhi prices it in Nepal (likely in the upper compact-SUV EV bracket, around Rs 50–70 lakh depending on specs, based on segment positioning and imported EV prices) and what equipment levels are offered here.

Prospective buyers should watch for:

  • Official Nepal price and warranty details
  • Battery size and certified range under local or international test cycles
  • Availability of DC fast charging infrastructure compatible with the Q05

Until those details are public, the Q05 remains one of the more interesting upcoming EVs for Nepali families seeking a modern, tech-rich compact electric SUV.
