Chinese vehicle manufacturer Chery is actively exploring options to enter the United States market. Vice President Charlie Zhang confirmed the company is open to forming partnerships with American automakers to navigate existing regulatory hurdles.
These discussions come as the US maintains strict policies regarding Chinese-made hardware and software in connected vehicles. Chery executives believe they can develop technology solutions that do not rely on Chinese components to meet these requirements. No specific American partners have been named, and the company has not disclosed a timeline for a potential US debut.
Meanwhile, the brand is moving forward with its expansion into Canada. Chery has officially postponed its Canadian retail launch to early 2027. The company is also evaluating the possibility of establishing local manufacturing facilities in Canada to support its North American operations.
While the brand continues to grow its international presence, it has not announced specific models or pricing for the Canadian market.
