Renault has brought back the Duster in India, and the version most relevant to Nepali buyers is the 1.3-litre turbo-petrol model offered with both a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed DCT. Indian reports and local coverage say the new-generation Duster is priced from Rs 10.49 lakh overall, while the 1.3 turbo MT starts at Rs 12.99 lakh and the 1.3 turbo DCT at Rs 14.49 lakh.
What changes between the two

Because the manual is lighter, it has a small advantage in power-to-weight and torque-to-weight figures, which matches the real-world test result reported by Autocar India: the manual was quicker to 100kph than the DCT.
In practical use, that means the MT is the sharper option for drivers who want stronger acceleration and more involvement, especially on open roads and highways. The DCT, however, is tuned more for smoothness and ease in traffic, which may matter more for buyers who spend much of their time in slow urban driving.
Why this matters for Nepal
Renault already has brand recognition in Nepal through the earlier Duster, and recent Nepali coverage has also reported that the latest Duster has been detailed for the Indian market with 1.0 turbo, 1.3 turbo and hybrid powertrains. If Renault decides to reintroduce the SUV in Nepal through India-linked supply, the 1.3 turbo MT would likely be the more price-sensitive option, while the DCT would arrive at a higher cost and could push the SUV into a more premium bracket.
For Nepali buyers, that usually translates into two different value propositions: the MT for lower purchase price and stronger performance, and the DCT for easier city driving and less effort in congestion. If the model comes here, pricing will depend on import duties, dealer margin and variant selection, but the Indian ex-showroom gap of about Rs 1.5 lakh between entry MT and DCT trims suggests the automatic will remain the costlier pick.
