Mercedes-Benz is working on a new display system that turns vehicle windows into communication tools. The technology, known as Intelligent Display in Glass, embeds tiny LED elements directly into the glass to share information with people outside the car.
These LEDs remain invisible when not in use. The system is designed to show safety warnings and traffic information on the rear window, such as alerts for accidents, pedestrians, or requests for following drivers to adjust their headlights. The company is exploring two types of LED technology for this purpose. Mini LEDs are intended for larger areas like the rear window, while higher-resolution Micro LEDs are suited for smaller displays and animations.
The brand is researching a holographic projection system for windshields. This setup uses a projector and transparent film to display content, potentially allowing passengers to view media without distracting the driver. These features are currently in the development phase. Mercedes-Benz has not announced a timeline for production or which models might receive this technology. Nepal pricing has not been announced.
