Mahindra SUV and EV prices raised again; what it means for Nepali buyers

Mahindra & Mahindra has announced another round of price increases on its passenger SUVs and electric vehicles, a move that matters to Nepali buyers who track Indian prices to guess where local costs are headed.

Second price hike in 2026

According to Mahindra's latest announcement, prices of its SUV range are going up by an average of 2.7%, effective from 10 July 2026. This follows a previous revision in early April 2026, when the company raised prices by up to about 2.5% on many ICE SUVs and around 1.6% on its commercial vehicles.

Mahindra says the new hike is mainly to offset higher production costs, including rising prices of steel, aluminium and other raw materials, as well as overall manufacturing and logistics expenses.

Key models affected

The increase applies to almost the entire Mahindra SUV line-up sold in India, which serves as the price reference for most Nepal imports. The affected models include:

  • Scorpio Classic (car)
  • Scorpio-N (car)
  • Bolero and Bolero Neo (car)
  • Thar and related variants (car)
  • XUV700 and other XUV series SUVs (car)
  • XEV 9e electric SUV (car)

Indian media reports note that the Scorpio Classic has seen a noticeable jump this time, while prices of the Scorpio-N remain largely unchanged in some variants. The biggest increase is reported on the base variant of the XEV 9e electric SUV, whose starting price in India has gone up significantly after this round of revisions.

Indicative impact on Nepal prices

Because Mahindra vehicles for Nepal are typically sourced from India, these ex-showroom changes usually show up as higher local sticker prices once new batches arrive.

As a rough guide for Nepali buyers, a 2.7% increase on a model that previously had an indicative price of Rs 20 lakh would push that to around Rs 20.5 lakh once the revised prices are reflected, before considering customs duties, local taxes and dealer margins. For higher-priced EVs and large SUVs, the absolute increase can be much higher in rupee terms.

Exact updated prices for Mahindra vehicles in Nepal will depend on the official pricing published by the authorised distributor in Nepal, including import costs and applicable duties. However, anyone planning to buy popular models such as Scorpio Classic, Bolero, Thar, XUV700 or the XEV 9e in the coming months should be prepared for higher on-road prices compared with earlier expectations.

Buyers are advised to check with Mahindra showrooms and dealers in Nepal for the latest quotations, variant-wise pricing and any remaining stock available at older rates before the new price structure is fully passed on to the local market.
