Leapmotor’s new B03 electric SUV is set to enter the Nepali market, with its first public appearance planned at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026 in Kathmandu.
Expo debut and importer details
According to announcements from Shangrila Motors Pvt. Ltd., the authorised distributor of Leapmotor in Nepal, the first unit of the B03 has already left China and is currently on its way to Nepal. The importer expects to showcase the SUV at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026, scheduled for 11–16 August 2026 at Bhrikuti Mandap, where Leapmotor is listed as an exhibitor.
The B03 is known as the A10 in China and is sold as B03 or B03X in international markets. It was first displayed at the Guangzhou Auto Show and is positioned as a compact electric SUV for urban and family use.
Powertrain and key specifications
According to the distributor’s release, the B03 uses a front-wheel-drive layout with a peak 100 kW electric motor delivering 200 Nm of torque. The model is built on Leapmotor’s latest EV platform and uses an LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery pack.
International specifications indicate a claimed driving range of up to around 500 km on the CLTC test cycle for the higher-capacity battery, along with DC fast charging that can charge the battery from about 30% to 80% in roughly 16 minutes. These figures are based on manufacturer data and may differ under real Nepali driving conditions.
Dimension-wise, the B03 is a compact SUV, measuring a little over 4.2 metres in length with a wheelbase of more than 2.6 metres. This footprint is aimed at providing good manoeuvrability in city traffic while still offering decent interior space.
Features for Nepali buyers
The B03 is expected to come to Nepal with:
- 18-inch alloy wheels
- A 14.6-inch 2.5K HD touchscreen infotainment system
- Level 2 ADAS driver assistance features
- A boot capacity of around 510 litres
International reports also mention equipment such as LiDAR-based driver assistance, Qualcomm-based computing hardware and over-the-air (OTA) software updates, though the exact feature mix for Nepali-spec vehicles will depend on the final variant configuration selected by Shangrila Motors.
Variants and expected positioning
Shangrila Motors has stated that the B03 will be offered in two variants, primarily differentiated by battery size and equipment levels. Detailed variant-wise specifications and official pricing for Nepal have not yet been announced.
Based on its size, power output and feature list, the B03 is likely to compete with other compact electric SUVs in the lower to mid-price EV segment, including models such as the BYD Atto 2 and upcoming small EV crossovers. Market watchers expect pricing to be structured to appeal to buyers looking for an electric family SUV below the premium EV bracket, potentially in the Rs 40–55 lakh range, but this is only an estimate and final prices will be confirmed closer to launch.
What this means for EV buyers
For Nepali buyers, the arrival of the Leapmotor B03 adds another option in the growing affordable electric SUV category. The combination of a relatively powerful motor, long claimed range, fast-charging capability and modern driver-assistance features could make it attractive for both city commuting and occasional longer trips.
Prospective customers will be able to see the vehicle in person, explore its cabin space and features, and get initial information on bookings and delivery timelines at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026. Official pricing, warranty details and after-sales plans from Shangrila Motors are expected to be shared around the time of the expo.
