Hyundai has officially launched the new Bayon SUV in India, expanding its global SUV portfolio. The vehicle is expected to arrive in the Nepali market in the first quarter of 2027, though official details regarding its local launch date and pricing remain unconfirmed.
In the current Hyundai Nepal lineup, the Bayon is positioned to slot between the Venue and the Creta. For context, the Hyundai Venue F/L is currently priced between Rs 48.96 lakh and Rs 67.96 lakh, while the Hyundai Creta petrol range starts at Rs 55.56 lakh for the 1.5 E MT (Made in Nepal) and goes up to Rs 80.56 lakh for the 1.5 SX(O) IVT (Made in Nepal).

Design and Performance
The Bayon follows the brand's 'Art of Steel' design language, characterized by sharp body lines, wide wheel arches, and black body cladding. It features LED projector headlights, L-shaped daytime running lights, and 17-inch alloy wheels. The SUV measures 4,245 mm in length, 1,810 mm in width, and 1,605 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,600 mm. It offers a ground clearance of 205 mm and a boot space of 505 liters.
Powering the vehicle is a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 115 hp and 144 Nm of torque. Buyers have the choice of a six-speed manual gearbox or a CVT automatic transmission. The SUV also includes a 'Dash Boost' mode for additional power during overtaking.

Interior and Technology
The cabin is equipped with two 12.3-inch screens serving as the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system. The system supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with Hyundai Bluelink connected services and a generative AI voice assistant. Other interior features include ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, and a Bose sound system.
Safety Features

Safety is a primary focus, with the Bayon built on Hyundai’s Global K enhanced platform. It comes with six airbags and Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) offering 23 functions, including forward collision warning, blind-spot collision-avoidance assist, and lane following assist. Standard safety equipment across the range includes electronic stability control, hill-start assist, and a tyre-pressure monitoring system.
