Firefly Set to Debut in Nepal as RHD Production Begins

Nio has taken its premium compact EV, the Firefly, into the right-hand-drive market for the first time. The model was shown at the Singapore Motor Show 2026, and advance bookings opened there.

For Singapore, Nio will sell the car with Werns Automotive, a local distributor founded in 1906. The left-hand-drive Firefly is already on sale in Europe. The China launch happened in April 2025.

Nio has not shared full right-hand-drive specifications yet. The left-hand-drive version uses a 105 kW electric motor, a Sunwoda LFP battery, and battery-swapping technology. It measures 4003 mm long, 1781 mm wide, and 1557 mm tall, with a 2615 mm wheelbase, 18-inch wheels, a 4.7-metre turning radius, ADAS, and 9 airbags.

The company says Australia and New Zealand are next. It aims to be present in 40+ countries by the end of this year.

For Nepal, the move matters because Nio’s official distributor is Paramount Motors. A local introduction is now more plausible, though not confirmed.
